On Saturday October 19th, 2014 approximately 150 students and parents participated in the 20th Annual Buddy Walk for the Gold Coast Downs Syndrome Organization. We raised over $1200 in donations for this worthy cause. A great time was had by all and we look forward to a bigger and better time next year!

We love dancing with friends! For 2 weeks at the beginning of each season, we have our annual “Bring a Friend” event where students may bring a non-enrolled friend to dance class!
Your student’s instructor will provide him or her with a class pass for a friend. The friend must submit the class pass to the student’s instructor completely filled out to attend the class. Please see the schedule below.

In recent years, our Special Arts Ensemble has performed during the opening ceremony for the Gold Coast Down Syndrome Association’s Annual “Buddy Walk”. This event raises funds for the organization’s educational, social, and advocacy programs in Palm Beach County and promotes awareness of the capabilities and talents of persons with Down Syndrome.
We’ve decided to take our school’s involvement in this year’s 20th Annual Buddy Walk to the next level in order to make more of an impact.
We are opening the opportunity up to the entire school to get involved with our team, called Dance Buddies STEP UP, either by walking during the event or by making donations. The Dancer’s Edge Company will participate and walk in honor of our Special Arts Ensemble and Dance Movement Students.
This is a great opportunity for adults and children of all ages to get involved in a very important cause, one that is very dear to our hearts here at Southern Dance Theatre.
We are hoping Team Dance Buddies – STEP UP will make a great impact!

Registration is $20, but if you register before October 5th it is only $15. If you are registering a student, you enter BW14 for the promo code, and the registration fee is then only $10 for students.
