We are happy to work with Lightning Videos this year who will film and produce our 30th Anniversary Recital DVD! For your convenience, dvds are available to order online. Please be sure to indicate if your dance will perform in the show June 8th, June 14th, or if you’d like to order the DVD that includes both shows. Enjoy your dancer’s performance for years to come or pass one along to an out of town friend or relative who is unable to attend.
Southern Dance Theatre sends a huge THANK YOU to Ms. Jillian Rhein!
Jillian, a former Dancer’s Edge Company Co-Captain and Southern Dance Theatre student, has designed the logo for our 30th Anniversary Recital.
Keeping aesthetics, passion, and the spirit of Southern Dance Theatre in mind, Jillian has created the image which will be featured on this year’s recital program and commemorative t-shirts.
My history with Southern Dance Theatre goes way back when I was first enrolled for classes when I was only 4 years old. But my family and I were a part of the SDT family before that when my older sister was attending classes and was a part of the Dancer’s Edge Company for a few years. I continued to take serval classes over the years until I was a senior in high school graduating. I was also a part of the Dancer’s Edge Company and was Co-Captain my senior year.
My family and I were very involved with the studio over those years with events. My father built props and sets and my mother made costumes. Dance and SDT were a major part of my life and growing up into the person I am today. After I graduated, I stayed local by attending and getting my AA degree at Palm Beach State College. While working and taking classes, I discovered and nurtured my passion for photography and fine art. After some research I found my calling in graphic design and switched focus from one art form to another. That’s when I transferred to University of Central Florida for my major and have been here for the past two years. I’ll be graduating in the fall with my degree and hope to hit the road running.
I’m looking to go into the editorial publication field, but I’m up for anything and for learning new things. My dream job would be a travel editor to be able to share my love for photography and to travel the world. I’m honored that I was able to design the 30th anniversary design for this year’s recital. It meant a lot to me.
