Body, Mind, & Sole: The Best of Dance 2014The Dancer’s Alchemy, along with top local dance schools and companies, is hard at work preparing for a special benefit for 2014.  February is National Eating Disorder Awareness month, and to help raise awareness, the Dancer’s Alchemy presents Body, Mind, & Sole: The Best of Dance 2014 on February 8, 2014 at The Countess de Hoernle Theatre at Spanish River High School.

This show benefits the Renfrew Center, the nation’s first residential eating disorder facility, a pioneer in the treatment of eating disorders since 1985.  Check out the Facebook page to stay up to date with the latest information.  Ticket sales begin in January.  More information coming soon.

Tap with Debbi Dee this Tuesday!

Master Tap Instructor Ms. Debbi Dee will teach at Southern Dance Theatre this Tuesday, October 15th 5-6pm.  This class is a perfect supplement for serious tappers, tap enthusiasts, and those looking for a different perspective to take their tap skills to the next level.  Sign up today-space is limited!

Southern Dance Theatre’s Tap Advanced Teen/ Adult Class Students and by invitation only Tap Intermediate Teen/ Adult and Tap Advanced Child Students will be admitted free. Cost for all others: $20.00 per class.

All others interested in these amazing classes by a Master Tap Teacher must register at office for available class openings. These are open to the public while space allows. Sign up today!

Come Flash Mob with us in City Place!

We are excited to announce that our very own Mr. Kenny and Mr. Greg, along with the rest of the LOUD cast, are cordially inviting any and everyone who is interested, to join them in City Place for a family Fun Fest Flash Mob today!

Who: LOUD and all of you!

What: Flashmob at Family Fun Fest

When: Sunday Oct 13 between 1:00 and 4:00pm

Where: City Place (all over the courtyard near the fountains)

Why: To promote “Don’t Text & Drive” (and because it’ll be Fun & Awesome!)

We are planning to meet in the Muvico Parking deck on the 4th floor at noon. If you can’t make it by noon that’s ok we will be performing twice between 1 and 3, so if you have something to do, COME ANYWAY 🙂

What to wear: Decorate your own (preferably white) t-shirt to say “DON’T TEXT AND DRIVE” on the front and <Southern Dance Theatre> on the back as there will be many other studios helping out with this endeavor. and if you’d like you can put LOUD on the sleeve.

Join us for Master Tap Class with Debbi Dee!

 

Tap Teacher Debbi DeeWe are excited to welcome Debbi Dee to Southern Dance Theatre. Debbi Dee has earned the honor of being referred to as a “teacher’s” teacher. She is known as a true technician as well as dynamic stylist whose energy is unsurpassed. Her expanding knowledge can be seen on platforms throughout the U.S. and she is internationally recognized as a Master Teacher in Japan, France, South America, and Canada.

Debbi Dee will be back at Southern Dance to give 7 Master Tap Classes this year to intermediate and advanced level tappers!

 

Classes will be held Tuesdays from 5-6 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Oct 15th
  • Oct 29th
  • Nov 12th
  • Dec. 17th
  • Jan 21st
  • Feb 25th
