Intermediate through Advanced Level Students ages 10-18 are welcome to audition for our 2016 Summer Intensive Program.
Audition: Sunday, April 3rd 1pm-4pm at Southern Dance Theatre.
Students interested in signing up for summer intensive auditions, can do so at the office starting March 1, 2016. You will be given an application at that time to return with you at the audition on April 3rd.
Audition attire: Females-Black leotard/ pink tights/ pink ballet shoes; Males-White t-shirt/ black tights/ black ballet shoes.
This program is designed and recommended for:
- Students auditioning for or attending BAK or Dreyfoos Schools of the Arts Dance Programs. Preparation is crucial for placement in higher levels within these dance programs.
- Students auditioning for the Dancer’s Edge Company.
- Serious students wanting to concentrate on technique to gain more progress at a time of year when you are not in school and committed to many other things.
This progressive curriculum includes: ballet, pointe, variations, modern, jazz, contemporary, leaps and turns, choreography, and much more!
The Intensive Program will be held:
Monday-Friday July 5th* – July-29th
9am-3pm / Ages: 10-18
Early arrival care 8:30-9:00am / After care available from 3:00-5:00pm
*A Make Up day is scheduled for July 9th covering classes not held on July 4th
Are you a SDT student preparing to audition for Bak or DSOA? Join us December 6th for a mock audition geared to help you gain the auditioning skills and confidence you will need to succeed.
Preparation is key to a successful audition and as Ms. Julie Bravata says, “Practice makes permanent.”

- Students in Peri & Hunter 1st & 2nd Years Ballet Levels – Audition for Elite Companies.
- Students in Peri 2nd Year & Hunter-Purple Ballet Levels – Audition for Apprentice Company.
- Students in Ballet Purple/ Black High School, 8th Graders if in full Black Ballet level – Audition for Senior Company.

Pick up your information packet and registration form from our office or download and print them from the links below. You will need to have your registration form completed at audition sign-in. Please come prepared.
Audition Attire:

Parents of current Southern Dance Theatre students who are interested in the Dance Audition preparation process for BAK and Dreyfoos Schools of the Arts Dance Auditions should join us for a Q & A Meeting:
Friday, September 26th at 7:30pm at Southern Dance Theatre. We will discuss the “ins and outs of auditioning”
