Thank you to the dancers, parents, teachers, directors, staff members, audience members, the stage craft theatre team, and volunteers for making the 2018 recital so memorable! We loved every minute of it from preparation to the classes and rehearsals to the wonderful performances on stage to the final bow and hope you did as well.

Lets celebrate the end of the school year with a FREE CONTEMPORARY CLASS this Saturday at Southern Dance Theatre with alumni and guest teacher Treyden Chiaravalotti presently training at Julliard Conservatory in NYC.

For dancers in Navy/Purple and Black Level ballet, Contemporary, and Modern 4.

Treyden will teach a 2-hour class from 10am-12pm utilizing contemporary movement as well as improvisational exploration. It will take the place of black level ballet.

Join the fun! Class size limited to first 18 that sign up with our office.

Recital Tickets

Recital tickets will be available for purchase from the comfort of your home or on the go from your mobile device April 22nd at 8am through May 26th at 11pm EST through our ticket merchant here.

  • Reserved Seating.
  • We will have a professional photographer & videographer at the event. No personal photos or videos.
  • Check to confirm whether your dancer is performing in show A or show B before ordering tickets.
  • Children 3 years old and younger who will sit on a parent’s lap will not need a ticket. If the parents wish for them to have their own seat then they would need a ticket.

Dress Rehearsal Tickets

Dress Rehearsal tickets will be available for sale at Southern Dance Theatre or at the door before the dress rehearsal.

  • On sale dates: May 1st – June 4th at Southern Dance Theatre or at the door before the dress rehearsal.
  • Cash or check if ordering at SDT. Cash only at the door.  $16 each.
  • General Admission – open seating.
  • Personal, non-flash photos & videos are permitted.
  • Children 3 years old and younger who will sit on a parent’s lap will not need a ticket. If the parents wish for them to have their own seat then they would need a ticket.

So Proud of Our Students’ Achievements!

We’re so happy to continue to hear about our students’ achievements. They work so hard and deserve recognition for all of their accomplishments!
 
Several girls at SDT that are members of the Bak chapter of National Jr Honor Society for Dance Arts. Membership is based upon Scholarship, Service, Leadership, Character, and Citizenship.
 
In addition, this year Lara Symons was the Bak chapter President, Nyla George was Vice President, and Libby Jo Heller was Historian.
 
Allyson Steinberg, Lara Symons, and Nyla George joined 4 other Bak students to perform at the Florida Dance Education Organization’s Honors Concert, held in St Petersburg, Florida in February.
 
Lara was selected as state-wide 1st place middle school winner for her essay and original choreography. As a result, she was given the opportunity to present her self-choreographed solo at the concert.
 
Along similar lines, Nyla George was just awarded a 75 percent dance scholarship to attend American Heritage School of Boca/Delray and Lara Symons a 50 percent academic scholarship to the same.
 
Congratulations to each of these young ladies for their dedication, talent, leadership, and drive. So proud of them!
