We’d like to send our warm congratulations to Ms. Gina Gelfand on her recent promotion!
Gina started teaching at Southern Dance Theater in 1983. After 10 years with SDT, she began a career with the Palm Beach County School district teaching dance and coaching a competitive dance team at Atlantic High School, the Eagle-Ettes & Company.
In 2009 Gina became the Dance Director at Plumosa Elementary School of the Arts developing a well rounded and classical ballet and jazz dance program for K-5th grade students.
Gina has been recently promoted as the Magnet Coordinator for Plumosa SOA where she provides support to the students and staff, and is a liaison for the Spanish Dual Language and Fine Art programs.
Gina has been a wonderful teacher, director, and mentor to many students and we are excited to see where this new role will take her!
Attention parents of 5th and 8th grade students who are auditioning in dance for acceptance to Bak, Dreyfoos, and other Arts Schools:
Ms. Penni Greenly will hold an “FYI” meeting Tuesday, September 25th, at 8:00 pm at our studio. We will discuss the ins and outs of preparing for the audition, whether it is the best option for your child, and within their goal range and level of training. We will also offer information on what Southern Dance Theatre has available to help your student prepare for their audition.
Hope to see you at the meeting and answer as many questions and concerns you may have.
