Dance teacher “extraordinaire”, Ms. Deborah Kahan will guide your young child through the magical world of dance.
Children joyfully explore the elements of movement using imagery and music. Props including capes, balls, musical instruments, steamers, elastic bands and much more contribute to a fully interactive environment.
Besides social interaction and direction following, this class challenges memory and sequencing.There is no right or wrong only opportunity to explore and discover in this early childhood class!

Join the whimsical world of Creative Dance with Deborah Kahan! Dance teacher “extraordinaire”, Ms. Deborah will guide your young child through the magical world of dance. Let your child explore their unique movement as they are enticed to become aware of self expression and creativity. Fun props, rhythm instruments, scarves, hoops, and parachutes will help to set their stories to dance and music at its purest form, leaping, twirling, and swaying.
Ages: 2 1/2 – 4 years old
This year we’ll offer 2 15-week Creative Movement sessions and we are now accepting new students!
- Session 1 Fall: September 6th – December 20th
- Session 2 Winter: January 24th – May 9th
- Wednesdays 3:30-4:30pm
- Free Registration! Each session is $275.
There will be a parent demonstration class so that parents can see all the children have learned. This class will not participate in recital.
Join Ms. Steele for open teen/adult tap class! This class is designed for students with 2+ years of experience and will be taught at an intermediate level. Jean Steele has been a director for our Dancer’s Edge Company and will teach and exceptional class. Join us!

Returning Students
- Returning students who danced with us during our 2016-2017 season are invited to register for classes early, beginning Monday, July 17th. Open registration for new students will be held Saturday 7/22 and Sunday 7/23. Please follow the steps below.
- Refer to the letter, recommended classes which our office mailed you July 10, 2017, and our class schedule.
- Complete your registration form.
- Submit back to Southern Dance Theatre in person with your registration fee & first installment beginning July 17th.
- Release & liability form must be signed at the time of registration.
New Students
NEW STUDENTS are invited to join us for open registration for Fall Classes 3-7pm on Saturday 7/22 and Sunday 7/23 at Southern Dance Theatre.
Our knowledgeable faculty will be on hand to discuss your previous experience (if any), goals, and help to find the best class for you during this time. This is a great opportunity for those new to our school to get a customized schedule and guidance from our instructors.
You can download and print your registration form and bring it in with you and we’ll have forms on hand as well. Leotards for Pre-Combo & Basic level classes will be available for sale at this time.

We are so excited to offer a fun camp for students ages 9-12 this summer and invite you to join us! Perfect for dancers with beginner and intermediate experience. Meet friends and learn new skills in a fun, supportive environment!
Teachers Sandra Goodnough, Jean Steele (Ms. Wesa), Lori Morales, Stacy Marzullo, Daylena Ruiz, Sydney Pennington, & Leah Stricker have big plans for our campers this summer!
Campers will get a taste of ballet, tap, jazz, modern, musical theater, and leaps & turns!
- Monday – Friday | July 17th – 28th | classes from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
- Cost for the full session: $500
- Free early arrival care 8:00-9:00am
- After care available from 3:00-5:00pm for $5 per day.
