Mr. Roger Dunson Jr. teaches our Jazz 4 and 5 Teen/ Adult classes this year! His Jazz 4 class curriculum includes the history of broadway and its music and Jazz 5 includes lessons highlighting the legendary jazz teacher, Luigi! Looking forward to the students’ progress in jazz this year!

Southern Dance Theatre is proud to offer the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough 8 level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development, to our ballet students. The ABT® National Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality ballet training to dance students of all ages and skill levels. Our ballet director, Julie Bravata, is a former dancer with American Ballet Theatre and ABT® Certified Teacher who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Primary through Level 7 and partnering of the ABT® National Training Curriculum. Artistically, the National Training Curriculum strives to provide dance students with a rich knowledge of classical ballet technique and the ability to adapt to all styles and techniques of dance.

Looking for a great early childhood class for your 2 1/2 – 4 year old? Join the whimsical world of Creative Dance with Ms. Deborah Kahan! Let your child explore their unique movement as they are enticed to become aware of self expression and creativity.
This class is great supplement for those currently in a homeschool program or those looking to homeschool in the future.

One thing that makes dancing even more special is dancing with friends! We will hold our annual “Bring a Friend” event where students may bring a non-enrolled friend to dance class September 4th – 17th this year. Please check our schedule below to learn when your classes will participate in this event.
Your student’s instructor will provide him or her with a class pass for a friend. The friend must submit the class pass to the student’s instructor completely filled out to attend the class. We hope to meet lots of new friends!
